DAY 1
Arrival in AntalyaMeet at the Antalya airport with Demavend Travels representative and drive to the hotel located in the old city centre, known as Kaleici. It is uncertain when the site of the current city was first inhabited. Attalos II, king of Pergamum, was believed to have founded the city around 150 BC, but excavations have uncovered remains dating to the 3rd century BC, suggesting that the city was founded earlier than previously supposed. DAY 2
Antalya to Kas via Goynuk canyon & ancient MyraIn the morning we leave Antalya and drive towards Kas, on our way we take time to visit Goynuk canyon for a short walk and visit ancient site of Myra. Goynuk canyon is one of the most interesting places in the region around Kemer, with great natural beauties, wonderful waterfalls and pine forests. Close to the village of Goynuk we start our hike and follow stabilized gravel roads and walking paths into the canyon. The canyon is in the centre of the inspiring Taurus Mountain range, covered with pine forests and a range of local wildlife. At the end of the track we take time for a picnic break, here you can also swim in ice cold water or you can climb up the rocks to see the waterfalls.In the late afternoon we return to the village on the same way and continue to ancient Myra, according to Strabo one of the largest towns of the Lycian alliance. The ancient city consist an impressive necropolis including tombs of rulers and family members and a large Roman amphitheatre. DAY 3
Sea kayak in Kas to Sebeda coast & Limanagzi beach - afternoon at leisure to explore KasAn amazing day with sea-kayaking awaits you today, you start your kayaking adventure with learning essential paddling and safety skills on calm water. This trip will also be good introduction to sea-kayaking; covering equipment and paddling technique. Practicing basic skills in calm waters and warm temperatures ensures a comfortable and enjoyable learning experience. The tour begins from big pebble beach or Kas harbour. While beginners are being informed about sea kayaking, experienced ones can paddle for warm-up exercising. We then begin to kayak all together to reach the isolated Sebeda coasts, which are not reachable by any other vehicle. Magnificent views of tombs that are carved into sheer rocks on steep hills and panoramas from “heaven on earth” places where we stop for lunch, amazing sights accompany us up to Limanagzi beach. When we reach the beach, you will not miss out on the appointment with turquoise waters. In the afternoon, wind goddesses allowing we kayak from Inceburun to Kas and test our recently acquired skills in the open water. On a lucky day, we may have an encounter with Mediterranean monk seals (Monachus monachus) and sea turtles (caretta caretta). If the sea conditions are favourable and your performance allowable, this tour may extend to the islands of Antiphellos Archipelago.In the afternoon we return to Kas, a small fishing, yachting and tourist town. A quiet pleasant place with its blue sea and narrow streets scented with jasmine flowers and with plenty of little quiet cafes to relax. DAY 4
Hike via Saribelen to GokceorenIn the morning we drive to the village of Saribelen where we start our walk following the Lycian way. We first follow a stabilised road and after a short while, we reach a very nice gravel path with characteristic white stones. The path leads us towards Teknedagi Mountains; after crossing a green valley we continue our walk in a fairy tale landscape between big rocks, big caves and hidden bird nests. We cross a second plateau and a beautiful path leads us up to a fantastic view point over the sea where we take time to enjoy the view over the islands of Meis, Fener and Kilise. Afterwards we walk down through a beautiful valley until we reach another great viewpoint over the sea. We pass the remains of an old roman village and walk down a rocky path and reach the village of Gokceoren where our vehicle awaits us. DAY 5
Cycling in Kas areaThe terrains in the hills above Kas are superb mountain bike territories, often with breath-taking views over the coast. A brilliant ride awaits us for today, we start on the mountain plateaus and finish near sea level. The route involves some climbing, but is generally downhill, with a mixture of little used asphalt and rough roads. After breakfast we will be transported to the mountain plateau (Yayla) way above the town of Kas, at an altitude of around 1.200m we start our ride across the plain below the nine Lake Mountains. Later we descend down towards sea level. DAY 6
Ucagiz/Kekova tour by boat with Simena castle - Antalya & the old city centre KaleiciOptional activity: Paragliding in KasExperience the ultimate adventure of paragliding over Kas, with spectacular views. The hills behind Kas are uniquely suited for this adventure. Every passenger is briefed and issued with a helmet, all pilots carry reserve chutes and communication systems. At a height of approximately 600 meters your flight will take you over mountain ridges and give you a bird’s eye view of the Old Town of Kas, its harbour, the peninsula and of course, even the Greek island of Kastellorizo (Meis).A short transfer takes us to Ucagiz village, where we today go out for a fascinating boat trip. The area around Ucagiz/Kekova is a great place for the coastal scenery as well as for the archaeological sites well preserved because they are not easily accessible. A pleasant excursion by boat is the best way to see the ruins on the northern coast of Kekova island, some of the old houses were completely submerged due to earthquakes during the Byzantine period. By boat, we go round the island, where you can see remains down to 2 meters deep, in the bluish light on the seabed. You will fully appreciate this day with a stroll on the Tersane Island.In the afternoon we return to Antalya where it is possible to walk through the old city centre (Kaleici), with its narrow cobbled streets of historic Ottoman era houses, with streets and buildings still bear the marks of Antalya’s history. DAY 7
Koprulu National park wild water rafting & ancient AspendosAfter breakfast we drive to Koprulu national park; with its famous canyon which is 400m deep in some places and stretches for 14 km along the Kopru River. The valley is rich of wild beauty in flora and fauna, including red pine, black pine, cedar, fir, oak varieties and wild olives. The Roman Oluklu Bridge (Olukluköprü) over the canyon and the Bugrum Bridge over the Kocadere stream were engineering feats of their time. Here awaits you a fantastic rafting adventure through Kopru River. Wild water rafting is one of the most exciting and adventurous sports and you’ll be amazed with the beauty of natural canyons and satisfied with the level of adrenalin. The rafting route will be around 12 km and will take around 3 - 4 h. In the late afternoon we also take time to visit Aspendos, known for having the best-preserved theatre of antiquity. Nearby stand the remains of a basilica, agora, nymphaeum (a monument) and 15 kilometres of a Roman aqueduct.
